Programa de inteligencia emocional “El Vuelo de la Cometa” promueve cultura de paz y no violencia en Colombia

“El Vuelo de la Cometa”, el programa sobre inteligencia emocional de las fundaciones Ismael Cala y Momentia, promueve la cultura de paz en zonas de Colombia, con resultados visibles en la reducción de la violencia y la deserción escolar.

Desde 2021, Manizales abrió sus puertas a la experiencia, convirtiendo a Caldas en el primer departamento del país en albergar uno de los programas más importantes de Latinoamérica en Inteligencia Emocional y Liderazgo Personal.

El programa busca tener presencia en ocho países, y entrenar a 88.000 jóvenes escolarizados entre los 12 y 17 años, con herramientas para el reconocimiento y la gestión de sus emociones y con la promoción de competencias socioemocionales básicas y avanzadas.

“El desarrollo del programa ha demostrado un incremento en el reconocimiento y la gestión emocional, lo cual se refleja en un aumento de la esperanza, la motivación, la autoestima y la visión de futuro de los jóvenes”, aseguró Ismael Cala, presidente de la fundación que lleva su nombre.

En Caldas, “El Vuelo de la Cometa” cuenta con 2.500 jóvenes formados en inteligencia emocional y liderazgo personal.

Desde 2021 se han formado 70 docentes y 2.500 jóvenes y adolescentes de 23 instituciones educativas de la región, 20 en Caldas y 3 en Risaralda.

De acuerdo con Marleny Urrego García, presidenta de la Fundación Momentia, “a través del programa se han reducido los índices de violencia en los centros educativos y hemos logrado disminuir la deserción escolar; adicionalmente, los jóvenes han mejorado su rendimiento académico”.

Las cifras manejadas por Momentia evidencian una reducción de los episodios de violencia en un 25% entre los estudiantes intervenidos y un 23% en las dificultades comunicativas y la resistencia al cambio. Por su parte, se logró una disminución del 6% en la intención de los estudiantes de desertar de la escuela.

De esta manera, la Fundación Ismael Cala y la Fundación Momentia de Manizales, construyen un territorio emocionalmente inteligente, con una cultura de paz y no violencia, que reconoce el valor de la salud mental y emocional de los adolescentes y jóvenes como la base para el desarrollo de una sociedad sana.

Al finalizar el programa, se espera que los estudiantes hayan adquirido competencias y habilidades de inteligencia emocional, que les permita aumentar su nivel de bienestar personal, mejorar su calidad de vida tanto física, como emocional y aumentar sus logros personales.

Las Fundaciones Ismael Cala y Momentia, esperan llegar en los próximos tres años de la mano de los actores interesados, a formar 11 mil estudiantes con el programa, así como visibilizar la necesidad de fortalecer la educación emocional para el desarrollo humano de niños, niñas y jóvenes, convirtiendo además la cátedra de inteligencia emocional en un área obligatoria del currículo de las instituciones educativas públicas.

En la actualidad se han vinculado otras organizaciones colombianas como CHEC Grupo EPM, patrocinador del programa en los territorios donde opera. Su gerente, Santiago Villegas Yepes, manifestó: “estamos muy contentos de acompañar estos propósitos, de apoyar a nuestros jóvenes en su desarrollo emocional, para que les permita tener relaciones más armónicas y proactivas, y continúen encaminando sus proyectos de vida de una forma integral”.
